Just For U Care recently collaborated with Government-funded Lively, a not-for-profit organisation bridging generational gaps by employing young (18-25 year old), compassionate individuals to provide personalised support to older community members.
The support from Lively helpers was provided alongside Just For U Care's regular in-home care services, seamlessly working together to provide our clients an additional method of care.
Offering Home Care Package clients two hours of care per fortnight for 8 weeks, the Lively trial with Just For U Care fostered mutual respect and learning between generations. This innovative approach helped our clients stay socially connected, while offering young helpers invaluable life skills and experiences.
Lively Services
The young helpers providing care through Lively can offer a range of services, including:
Light domestic assistance, such as cleaning and laundry
Social gardening
Tech help, including learning how to connect online and familiarisation with a new device or platform
Personal projects or creative activities at home
